Sage Green  Bathroom

Featuring a raised wet room floor and bespoke design elements, this project required a full back-to-back renovation, new plumbing installations, plaster boarding, and meticulous attention to detail in both layout and material choices.

1. Renovation & Construction

Back-to-Brick Demolition:

  • The project began with stripping the bathroom back to its original brick structure to address any structural issues and provide a blank slate for the redesign.

  • Old plumbing and fixtures were removed entirely to allow for updated systems and ensure compatibility with modern appliances.

Raised Wet Room Floor:

  • A wet room area with raised floor was constructed to allow for proper drainage and plumbing installations

  • The gradient of the raised floor was carefully calculated to ensure water flows seamlessly into the concealed linear drain.

  • Waterproofing membranes were applied to the entire wet room area, creating a fully watertight environment to prevent any long-term water damage.

New Plumbing Installations:

  • A completely new plumbing system was installed to accommodate the repositioning of the shower, bath, and other fixtures.

  • Pipework was concealed behind walls and within the raised wet room floor to maintain a clean and modern aesthetic. o Black matte fixtures, including the rainfall showerhead and handheld shower attachment, were installed for a sleek and contemporary look.

  • Plumbing lines for the new toilet and sink needed to be re-routed to accommodate the new placement of fixtures.

Plaster Boarding and Surface Preparation:

  • The walls were plaster-boarded and skimmed to create smooth, even surfaces, ready for tiling and decorative panelling.

  • Thermal plaster boards were used where necessary to enhance insulation and energy efficiency

Fitting The Quartz vanity unit:

  • The white and grey marble quartz worktop was carefully placed on top of a white wooden vanity, it was secured in place using strong adhesive to ensure stability and prevent any shifting.

  • The countertops had precise cutouts for the under-mount sink, which was fitted into the same stone to provide a seamless look, with no visible edges or seams.

2. Design Details

Colour Palette and Materials:

  • The bathroom features a sophisticated forest green colour scheme, adding a calming and natural vibe to the space.

  • Panelling was installed around the bath and window areas, painted in a custom matched green shade to complement the rest of the room.

  • The tiled shower area contrasts beautifully with its muted grey metro tiles, arranged in a classic horizontal brick-lay pattern for timeless elegance.

Quartz work top:

  • The marble countertop was carefully selected for its luxurious appearance and durability. The marble was chosen by Royle Interiors for its classic elegance, featuring subtle veins of grey and white grout that complemented the neutral tones. It added a sophisticated touch while remaining versatile enough to match various bathroom design elements.

Bath and Shower Area:

  • A freestanding white bathtub acts as a focal point of the room, its minimalist curves offer a modern yet luxurious aesthetic.

  • The adjacent wet room shower area is delineated with the raised floor and matte black fixtures, including a rainfall showerhead and wall-mounted controls for convenience.

  • Frameless glass was used to separate the wet room from the rest of the bathroom, maintaining an open and airy feel.

Under-Mount Sink:

  • The under-mount sink was carefully aligned and installed beneath the marble countertop. It was sealed around the edges to ensure there were no gaps where water could seep.

  • The sink’s smooth, polished surface provided a perfect contrast to the textured marble countertop, enhancing the overall luxury feel of the bathroom.

Lighting:

  • Recessed LED spotlights were installed in the ceiling, ensuring bright and even illuminations throughout the space.

  • A mix of natural light from the large window and artificial lighting enhances the rooms warm, inviting ambiance.

3. Functional & Aesthetic Features

Waterproof and Ventilation:

  • Waterproofing in the wet room was a priority for Royle Interiors, ensuring long term durability and eliminating the risk of leaks.

  • A high-quality extractor fan was installed to promote airflow, prevent humidity buildup, and maintain a hygienic, mold-free environment.

Storage Solutions:

  • The bespoke panelling designed by Royle Interiors may include hidden storage options, ensuring an uncluttered and functional design.

  • The minimalist’s aesthetic prioritises functionality while delivering a visually sleek design.

Durable flooring:

  • Royle interiors selected durable large-format tiles for the flooring, chosen for their water-resistant and stain-proof properties.

  • The neutral tones of the floor tiles were carefully chosen to compliment the forest green panelling and grey metro tiles, resulting in a cohesive design.
